Girls Camp and High Adventure 2010

I have just spend 6 days camping! The really nice thing was that the weather cooperated beautifully, only raining during the night once (and it really poured)! Other than that it was just really hot and humid. The girls, all 92 of them seemed to be on their best behavior. They were really terrific. We hiked, played on a giant swing, climbed on the high ropes course, enjoyed a huge slip and slide, built fires and made some great crafts during regular girls camp. Then the older girls left for a different spot for their high adventure where we really roughed it. We fished for our dinners, did some canoeing, lashed a 22-foot tower, and practiced target shooting at a shooting range. Again the girls were just outstanding! I had fun, but I'm sure glad to be home with all of the modern conveniences!

Sean's Mini-Mission

Sean left last Friday, June 11, for his 'mini mission'. He served with Elder Brownlee and Elder Munns in Athens. Aaron Rigsby was the other 'prospective elder'. HE was set apart by President Nufer. The next morning they had a meeting with Elder Christopherson and three members of the Seventy. That was a terrific experience. Sean thought the Elders were great. He got to tract, attend a Zone meeting, eat with some members and teach some discussions. On "P" Day they just kind of relaxed. There was a zone baseball game, but it was in Reynoldsburg, so way too far away for them to travel to. We picked him up yesterday, Saturday, June 19. He said it was a good experience! You will notice in the first pictures that he was sporting a 'shiner' caused by a knee to his eye while playing 'scratch', by the time he got home it was all healed!
The first picture is Sean with our beloved Zanesville missionaries Elder Huff and Elder Walker. The last picture is with his mini-mission companions Elder Brownlee and Elder Munns with Brother Rigsby.
