Sledding with the Schenk family in Challas - Schenk family Christmas Vacation 2013

This has to be the most fun sledding hill!  I laughed all the way down, and it is a long way!  1 1/2 mile of excitement going around curves and down a pretty good slope.  Last year Derek was clocked at 29 mph.  I don't think I went that fast!  Michael, Tom, Reggie, Jordan, and Cameron might have.  If you want a fun sledding experience, it is worth the drive to Challis.  While you are there you can enjoy a nice warm bed and great food at the Challis Inn

CHRISTMAS MORNING 2013 with Ryan, Ashley, & Hudson

Waiting for Ryan and Tanner to awaken.
Yea!  It's Radiator Springs and Lightning McQueen!
Christmas morning is so exciting and so much fun with little kids!  As you can see, Tanner is a big kid, and he doesn't look too excited or fun.  His newly surgerized wrist isn't feeling so great, maybe.

Schenk Women Get-Away October 31 - November 2, 2013

It's that time of year!
Karen sent out an email to see if anyone was interested in going to St. George to see Thriller at Tuachan!  As you can see there was an excited bunch of women responding, 'YES, I Want To Go!  Take Me, Take Me!'

Nichole, Ashley, Colleen, Katie, Yvett, Karla, Brittany, Karen, Angie (with baby), Laurie, Beckah, Kristen, Sheri, Kaitlyn, Leslie, Heather, Steff, and me enjoying dinner at Kneaders, quickly before the show.
All of us plus two lovely guests!

Enjoying "Slurp" - some refreshment after our morning swim, run, walk.
 Dinner at Pizza Factory
 Fun relaxation!
This is not gambling... it just costs $3.00 to play!
Karla wins! ... to Colleen's disappointment.

Mom wanted to be here so badly, but since Dad had his heart surgery two days ago, she couldn't possibly come.  We missed mom as well as Lora and Jen.  Next time!

The Day Before Dad's 78th Birthday

Not the way you really want to be spending your birthday... and possibly not the perfect gift for that birthday... just looks like work!
Dad found out this evening that he needs to have emergency open heart surgery.  It is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.  He will have a 3-way bypass.  His veins aren't large enough for them to solve his problems with angioplasty.  Hope he gets a good night sleep and feels better soon!

Leslie and mom present him with his present from all of the family!  We thought he might not feel like opening it tomorrow after surgery.
He was excited about the prospect of feeling well enough to be able to use this little gem!  It looks like we expect him to get to work!
Love you dad.
Hugs, kisses, and prayers!

The Mansion That Michael Built... is Building... is Renovating... It's Amazing!

Monday night, for Family Night, as many family members as we could gather together met at the house that Uncle Michael is building for a BBQ!  We had such a great time!  The house, the pool house, the greenhouse, and the gardens are absolutely amazing, but somehow the company was even better.  Love my family!
The house still in progress

Reggie's Eagle Scout Court of Honor

Sunday, October 6, 2013, I attended Reggie's Court of Honor.  I didn't get very many good pictures.  I wasn't ever close enough with my flash.  I feel really badly that I didn't get a picture of all of the people who were there to support him and his family!  There were several Mosers there. On the Schenk side, Grandma and Grandpa Schenk, Derris and Laurie, Leslie, Tom, Sheri, Beckah, Tyler, Kelsee, and Kylee, Michael, Jordan, Cameron, Aliyah, and Rachel, Nic, Steff, Brooklyn, Camryn, Kendyl, and Nixon.

Thanks for the Birthday Party!

Had a fun time tonight with this beautiful family of mine.  Sadly we're missing Ryan, Katie, Tanner, and Sean.  Not that I'm happy to be a year older by any means, but always happy to have a party with the people I love!

Glacier National Park - September 20-22, 2013

Welcome to Glacier National Park!  (West Entrance)
Leslie, Me, Mom, Dad

Dad and Me
Stacy, Leslie, Dad, Mom, Me
We're out looking for those bear!  Would like a photo op.

The tour bus - which we did not take - Stacy was a great tour guide and his truck was probably more comfortable!

Finally saw a bear.... been looking all morning!
East Entrance

Can you spot the Mountain Goat on the hill?  Stacy, our driver, was the first to see it.  Thought his eyes should have been on the narrow, windy road!
This is a snow depth pole.  They expect a lot of snow!

The question of the day..... who is taller?  The resounding answer from all was... me!
